Random Acts of Kindness
I love random acts of kindness. Anything you can do that simply brightens someone's
day, can make a major impact on that person's life. Anonymous acts of kindness are
even better. Take a bit of time, and think about what you can do to help someone
else. The gesture doesn't have to be a grand one. Even the smallest act of kindness
can have a profoundly positive effect on someone. Your gesture may inspire that
person to then do something nice for someone else. Before you know it, something
fantastic will have happened...and you will have been a part of a wonderfully positive
domino effect.
I started researching ideas and was amazed by how many websites out there
promoted these acts of kindness. Here are a few ideas I came across:
- The next time you are in line in your favorite coffee drive thru, offer to pay for the
drinks for the vehicle behind you.
- Ever take coupons with you to the store, and then decide not to use them? Rather
than tossing them, leave the coupon on the shelf next to the product. The next
person that comes in for that product will be pleasantly surprised to find a coupon
there.
- Better yet, clip all of the coupons from the ads in the Sunday paper. Head out to the
store, and make it your mission to leave every coupon next to the coordinating
product.
- Go to a bookstore, or library, and leave a dollar bill inside one of the books for the
next person to find.
- Resist the urge to pick up random change off the ground. Let the next person who
sees it be the lucky person who finds it.
There are so many more ideas. Once you give it some thought, you'll quickly come up
with many more. I am officially in love with the idea of random acts of kindness. :)
